Young Greek of the week: James Eracleous
James Eracleous
Name: James Eracleous, 15, De La Salle College Malvern.
Your greatest achievement and how you reached them?
I wrote a piece about global warming that was published in a book called Too Cool, as part of the Write4Fun 2007 competition.
However the way I see it, you should be proud and grateful of everything and anything you do, because the same tasks you find easy are a struggle for less fortunate people.
Goal for the future? To get a job in computing or media arts/studio arts.
Best moment of your life?
The feeling you get when you give back to the community, for example my week at Port Phillip Specialist School and MacKillop Family Services.
One word that describes you the best: Work-in-progress.
Persons you most admire and why?
My parents and grandparents; they are always there for me whether I need them or not. Keep the cash flowing guys.
Most embarrassing moment?
Being on stage and forgetting my lines, both at a Greek school presentation and a primary school Christmas concert.
If I could say anything to the Greek community...
ΕΠΙΤΡΕΠΕΤΑΙ ΝΑ ΠΕΣΕΙΣ, ΕΠΙΒΑΛΛΕΤΑΙ ΝΑ ΣΗΚΩΘΕΙΣ
Favourite place to go or hang out at?
Albert Park shops, Grandparents' place, Glenferrie Road, Malvern Station and Sorrento Strip.
Song that I can't get out of my head at the moment?
Quite a few: Burn Your Name (Powderfinger), When You Were Young (The Killers), The Man Who Can't Be Moved (The Script) Viva La Vida and Life In Technicolor II (Coldplay).
Favourite Greek food? Seafood, and also Andrew's Hamburgers in Albert Park.
I can't live without... iPod, Internet, my computer, friends and family (in that order-jokes).
If I was Kevin Rudd for a day I would...
Make more affordable technology to broaden people's horizons and liberate Cyprus (that may take more than one day).
