Soprana Helen Zerefos OAM will bring 12 poems to life through music in the performance Extensions, that will be held next month.
Zerefos is a coloratura soprano of rare charm whose versatility spans the widest gamut of showbusiness performance. From the stage to television to nightclubs, concerts and recordings, her talents have been applauded and revered. Her humanitarian work is extensive as she’s supported various charities through her talents. In June 2004, Zerefos was selected to be a torchbearer in Sydney in the Athens 2004 Olympyc Torch Relay.
The performance – sponsored by Peter and Helen Magiros and presented by the Kytherian Association of Australia – will see poetry by S. Harkianakis brought to life, sung by Zerefos with musical accompaniment by Evaggelos Papageorgiou. The proceeds from the event will support Alzheimers research and KAA Aged Care Trust. It will take place at Westside Reception Lounge, 265 Illawarra Road, Marrickville, on Sunday 3 November at 3.00 pm. Tickets are $20 and bookings are essential by calling Kathy Samios on (02) 9349 1849. CDs will be available for purchase on the night for $25.
