Έλα (Ela = come) is back for one night only this Saturday, that is tonight. It’s Greek Easter and the darling of Melbourne’s food scene, Ella Mittas is putting on a six-course feast, featuring a selection of delicious liquid gems from Greece and rebetiko music. The dinner will be held at the awesome Captains of Industry in the city in collaboration with Mon Ditbunjong.

“We’re super excited. I’m cooking up some amazing traditional Easter treats for people to enjoy while listening to some lovely rebetika,” Ella told Neos Kosmos.
“An event similar to what we did at the Gertrude street Enoteca. It’s more for people who’ve never had a Greek Easter before as I’ll be cooking lamb. I’m going to dye some eggs, make kalitsounia, serve toureki.”

The second event Ella is putting together is scheduled for 19 April at East Elevation and is a joint effort with the wildly popular New Zealand author Jessica Prescott who runs the blog Wholly Goodness.

“Together we’ve come up with a Greek inspired vegan meal,” Ella enthused.

“It is centered around produce from the garden at East Elevation, my time working in Greece and Jess’s expertise in vegan food; we’ve come up with a great menu. I think we’re even getting a Greek inspired vegan chocolate made for the event from the chocolate makers in East Elevation which is exciting!”
