Australia joins Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest’s grand final this weekend, after making it through the second round of semi-finals on Thursday night.

Despite nerves, Jessica Mauboy wowed audiences around the world with her hit We Got Love, which has been pumped on Australia’s airwaves in the lead-up to the event.

“It felt nerve-wracking, but at the same time with that kind of crowd, it’s really undeniable; you can’t. There is so much love and what my song represents is that,” said Mauboy following her solo performance.

“The people in the crowd, and the people watching at home feeling this electricity, this synergy … I obviously felt that back.”

But will Mauboy have what it takes to take out the title for Australia?

Named among the favourites, she’s in with a good chance, but the 28-year-old will have to go one better than Cyprus’ entrant, Eleni Foureira who is the bookmaker’s top selection for the win with her song Fuego.

Joining Cyprus and Australia in the grand final in Lisbon on Saturday night are Albania – Foureira’s birth country, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Israel, and Lithuania from the first round of semi-finals, along with Serbia, Moldova, Hungary, Ukraine, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia, and The Netherlands.
