Preparations have begun for this year’s ‘Antipodean Palette’ art exhibition, celebrating the diverse work of Greek Australian artists. Presented by the Greek Australian Cultural League (GACL), since 2011 the exhibition has established itself as a major annual art event in the Greek community which invites artists nationwide to exhibit work in a variety of form and medium.

It offers both emerging and established artists an ideal platform to network and introduce their work to the wider community, and also stimulates public interest in the visual arts by highlighting the wonderful talent existing in our community.

A non-profit organisation, the GACL was established in 1970. Awarded a Medal for Excellence in Multicultural Affairs and Meritorious Service to the Community, it contributes to the enrichment of literature and the arts by organising many successful annual events, and supporting and promoting writers, artists and musicians.

‘Antipodean Palette’ will be held at Steps Gallery (62 Lygon St, Carlton, VIC) from 3 August until 9 August. The official opening event will take place on Saturday 4 August at 2.00 pm. All visitors attending the opening will have the opportunity to select their favourite work for the People’s Choice Award.

Professional and emerging artists interested in taking part can submit their entries online before the end of May. Submissions must include an artist statement, description and dimensions of work/s, as well as digital images as JPEG or PNG files no larger than 10MB.
