A campaign to support the Lavrio Centre for Kurdish Refugees (Kentro Filoxenias Prosfygon Lavriou – KFPL), was launched on Monday, aiming to help volunteers working at the small facility on the coast of Attica, to cater for 150 Kurdish migrant children and their families, who are stationed there.

“Following the latest developments and the continuing war in Syria, refugee flows have increased, and despite the efforts made so far and the real solidarity that has taken place here, the situation remains difficult.,” reads the KFPL Statement. “There is a lack of food and personal hygiene, so the need to fill the gap created is immediate.”

The campaign, titled “Every Child is One of Ours”, is appealing for donations of food, personal hygiene products, and clothing. A number of organisations are taking part in the campaign, including the NGO ‘Solidarity for All’ and the Coordination of Social Welfare and Pharmacies of Attica.

Anyone wishing to make a donation and to find out the locations of collection points are encouraged to visit website of the Lavrio Refugee Support Network (dypla.blogspot.gr), contact via email (dyppla@gmail.com), or visit the Network’s Facebook page.
