The ‘Greek Mums and Bubs’ online community will be holding a special event in order to raise money for those affected by the recent fires in Athens.
The event will feature a number of special guests, such as DJ Georgie T and comedian George Kapiniaris and will be held at the Vogue Ballroom located at 399 Blackburn Road, Burwood East on Sunday 19 August.
The entrance fee is $120 ($75 for children under 12) and all the money will be donated to the families whose property was lost during the tragic forest fires in Greece. The group is hopeful as they have already raised over $10,000 in pre-registrations for the event.
This isn’t the first event of its kind held by the ‘Greek Mums and Bubs’ group. Initially created by Zoe Velonis, Effie Moraitis and Stacey Savridis in 2016 as an online forum so that mothers could trade or sell used baby items, as the community flourished and more members started to gather, they began to expand their activities in order to help those in need, holding a series of fund raisers.
