Giannis Antetokoumpo has started the season with remarkable numbers in the NBA, taking the Milwaukee Bucks by the hand and leading them to an impressive 6-0 winning streak at home.

Giannis has already managed to feature in the ‘Player of the Week’ segment for the Eastern Conference on the week ending 28 October, with 24.8 points on average and a percentage of 53 on all his shots for every 29.3 minutes of play in games against the New York Knicks, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Orlando Magic.

Meanwhile, he has two impressive triple-doubles under his belt in the season.

The first being in the game at Philadelphia, where the ‘Greek Freak’ stopped at 32 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists in 37 minutes of play against the 76ers. His second impressive performance was versus the Sacramento Kings, where he recorded 26 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists while remaining on the court for 30 minutes.

In that same game, Giannis had a highlight dunk against fellow Greek centre Kostas Koufos, regarding which he stated that “things will be awkward when we return to Greece”, in a more playful tone. Apart from his records in points, Antetokoumpo has a continuous presence in the Top-10 of the ‘Play of the Week’ segments of the Eastern Conference, with his spectacular dunks leaving the crowds in awe. He seems to be set for yet another All-Star game, even though the season has only just begun (eight games in).

Also, despite some incredible performances from Steve Kurry, Kyrie Irving and Blake Griffin, Antetokoumpo is regarded to be in the running for MVP of the season.
