Melbourne Victory prepares to face Sydney FC in the most interesting among the Round five A-League games. Kevin Muscat’s men have returned to form in their last two games versus the Jets and the Mariners and will want to build on their momentum against a difficult opponent, further boosting their confidence.

On the other side, Steve Corica’s team have remained unbeaten so far in the league (two wins and two draws) and will hope to keep it that way, when welcoming the champions in what is expected to be a full house at the Jubilee Oval on Sunday.

Neither team is facing many serious injury or suspension issues, although Corica is still looking forward to the day that he will be able to use main winter signing Siem De Jong in his starting line-up.

On the other hand, with World Cup striker Ola Toivonen finally fit, Muscat will be seriously considering giving him a position in the starting line-up. Elsewhere, the Mariners will have their work cut out for them in their bid to escape the bottom of the table as they travel to Perth, with Tony Popovic doing an incredible job so far at the helm of his team.

Melbourne City are expected to leave Brisbane with the three points against the Roar as key striker Bruno Fornaroli will be looking to add to his tally after breaking his dry spell in his team’s last game against the Phoenix.

The team from New Zealand will have a difficult job at home against on-form Adelaide United as they haven’t tasted victory in their last eight games versus Marco Kurz’ team. Finally, on Friday, the Western Sydney Wanderers were to clash with the Newcastle Jets.
