On Wednesday alone, The Hellenic National Defense General Staff (GEETHA) recorded 36 violations of Greek national air space with one of the violations escalating into a mock fight.

The violations took place over the southeast, central and northeast regions of the Aegean Sea with all Turkish aircraft being identified and intercepted by Greek fighter planes.

Greek forces acted in accordance with the international rules of engagement, abiding to GEETHA, AP reported.

Nine of the violations were carried out by three formations of Turkish F-16 jets, four of which were armed, and the other 27 by two CN-235 planes while in five recorded instances Turkish jets infringed upon airspace which belongs to the Athens Flight Information Region (FIR).
