Greece’s tennis prodigy Stefanos Tsitsipas has lost to Britain’s Cameron Norrie at the RAC Arena in Perth.

Tsitsipas, currently ranked at 15th in the world, suffered by the world’s No 91st with a 7-6 (10-8) 6-4 in 107 minutes.

The high temperatures in Perth appeared to negatively affect Tsitsipas’ display early on into the game.

“It was tough to adjust from the very beginning,” Tsitsipas who committed several unforced mistakes, said.

“Cameron played really well, but I really felt uncomfortable, I don’t know why. Probably because of the weather conditions. The heat here – it’s a bit different. It’s tougher conditions than Dubai where I was preparing.

“I feel like I’m getting tired easily, which I’m not happy with because I’ve been working really hard in the off-season,” he continued.

His loss has concerned fans as Tsitsipas has been singled out as as a potential future grand slam champion following his overall 2018 course.

Meanwhile, Norrie said he is “really excited to get the win, he’s a tough competitor”, when asked about taking on Tsitsipas.

“He came out with some big shots,” Norrie added.

Tsitsipas will be next facing US player Frances Tiafoe on Monday, followed by the much anticipated marquee clash with Swiss legend Roger Federer on Thursday.
