Giannis Antetokounmpo lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a comeback victory against the Charlotte Hornets at the season’s end on Friday.

The Bucks were victorious with 108-99 and were cheered on by thousands of Greeks who showed up to support the team, especially Antetokounmpo.

The Hornets started off well, however Antetokounmpo’s 34 points and 14 rebounds helped secure a win for the Bucks.

The Greek All-Star captain was cheered on for his prowess on the basketball court, enjoying an apotheosis. Following the game, fans waited for a glimpse of their hero. Spectators cheered the words M-V-P in honour of the captain but the cheers soon turned to the singing of the Greek national anthem.

It was a meaningful moment for Antetokounmpo and the Greeks present at the game.
