Young tennis gun Stefanos Tsitsipas had stunned his childhood idol Roger Federer at the Australian Open last month. Now the two are set to meet again in the finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The 20-times Grand Slam champion is looking to avenge his shock defeat by Tsitsipas.

Federer has already been declared a seven-times winner in Dubai, and a win would make him the second man in Open Era to win 100 titles after American player Jimmy Connors.

Tsitsipas is in the semi-finals after managing to get past Gael Monfils in a game that changed from out of nowhere, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-4). Playing and beating tennis greats who are in the top 10 has helped Tsitsipas’ game improve.

“I wanted to get there at some point myself, and I made it today. I don’t know, it’s probably a special day for Greece,” he said.
