The Department of Audio & Visual Arts (Ionian University) is organizing the “Greece – Puglia Experience Screenwriting Workshop“.

The Workshop is part of the CIAK (Common Initiatives to Acknowledge and promote tourism potential of the programme area through cinema, Interreg Greece-Italy) and the objective is to bring together the areas of western Greece (Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Greece) and Puglia Region through film scripts.

The initiative hopes to exploit the potential role of the film industry as a catalyst for tourism development. The goal of the workshop is the promotion of the involved areas through cross-border initiatives linked to the audiovisual and cinema sector. The cultural and natural heritage represents a primary motivation for more than 50 per cent of travels to tourist destinations: in this respect, the promotion of the heritage through hosting film crew or similar events, may foster the integration of territorial resources and improve the attractiveness of these areas with positive socio-economic impacts, starting from an increasing number of visitors and the creation of new sustainable services for tourists.

It is free to participate in the Greece – Puglia Experience Screenwriting Workshop as all expenses related to travel, accommodation and food are covered and organised in their entirety by CIAK.

The total number of participants is limited to fifteen. Priority is given to specific selection criteria.

All applicants must submit the corresponding documents – written in English – via the online application system:
