National Community Language Schools Day this year fell on Election Day, 18 May.

Pedia Greek School celebrated the landmark by thanking The Ethnic Schools Association of Victoria, Community Languages Australia with a special tribute.

Greek students participated in joined classroom activities to show their appreciation and support and were encouraged to write articles in school newsletters.

Community language schools in Australia have received increased funding on both national and state basis which will help promote the importance of language education and multiculturalism.

National Community Language Schools Day provides a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about the important work that community language schools do week in week out, while highlighting their role in Australia to promote social cohesion and harmony. The day also helps recognise the efforts of outstanding CLS teachers and instructors while showcasing students’ work.
