An exclusive night of food and wine will be held in the glorious surrounds of Nicholson museum in Sydney. Sydney Friends of the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens and the Friends of the Nicholson Museum will have the opportunity to eat noted chef, David Tsirekas’ excellent food at this food and wine event, while learning more about the ancient world. David Tsirekas, Executive Chef of recently “hatted” Xanthi Bar and Restaurant in Sydney, will create a culinary journey through the ancient world. His menu features five tasting courses themed to specific regions of the Hellenic world including Greece, Sicily and Egypt. Each course will be matched to a unique Greek Wine. Xanthi Bar and Restaurant has recently been awarded a “Chef’s Hat” by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide. The night will start with three short talks: Dionysos – God of a Good Night Out, by Michael Turner, Senior Curator of the Nicholson Museum, The Influence of Greek Food in the Ancient World, by Ted Robinson, University of Sydney Department of Archaeology, and The Rise and Rise of Greek Wines Today, by Angie Giannakodakis, Greek wine specialist and Sommelier.
