A nice riverside atmosphere was created in Trikala, northwestern Thessaly, this week.

Thanasis Mihalakis from the Municipality of Trikala sent us our photos  from the banks of the Lithaios River. On 18 September, the area was turned into a ‘beach’ with lounge chairs under the shade of the trees.

The first people to enjoy the new atmosphere were the students from Trikala primary school that enjoyed playing footy around the parklands and on Amalias Road, which remained shut down for EU Mobility Week 2019.

Despite the fact that the days of summer have ended in Greece, the autumn colours made the day extremely enjoyable.
