Two Greek American stars are amongst the nominees for the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards which were announced on July 16.

Writer and comedienne Tina Fey will have a busy night given 30 Rock has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series while she has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy for her role in 30 Rock, and for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series for her spoof of Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live.

Jennifer Anniston has also been nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series for her guest apperance on 30 Rock.

Last year’s Emmy Awards proved a night to remember for Tina Fey who walked away with three awards including outstanding writing and lead actress in a comedy series.

Elizabeth Stamatina “Tina” Fey was born in 1970 to a German/Irish father and Greek mother.

Making history by becoming the first female head writer in Saturday Night Live history, Fey became involved in writing for various comedic projects including the series 30 Rock and 2004 teen-flick Mean Girls.

The Emmy’s in 2009 will be held on September 20 and will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.
