The Delphi Bank Greek Film Festival (GFF) is now on for the 26th year with an exciting program, featuring 15 features, three engaging documentaries, and one Australian short film. AROMA & TASTES FROM LEFKADA
The Lefkadian Cultural Association is hosting its annual event Aromas & Tastes from Lefkada this Sunday 20 October at Normanby House (22-24 Normanby Ave, Thornbury) at 12.30 pm. The program includes live cooking demos by Anastasia Vrettos and daughters, Irene Kourtis and sons, and Evagelia and Nick Katiforis. There will also be traditionally made sweets and wines to try, a cookbook exhibition and music by DJ Joe. The event is being dedicated to the renowned Lefkadian cook, Evi Voutsina. GREEK AUSTRALIAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
The Greek Centre (168 Lonsdale St, Melbourne) will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Greek Australian Short Film Festival on Friday 25 October from 7.00 pm. Tickets $15.00.

TAVERN NIGHT
The Pan Macedonian Association of Melbourne and Victoria is hosting its annual Greek Tavern Night on Saturday 26 October at Nornmanby House (22 Normanby Ave, Thornbury) from 6.30 pm. The two-day Oakleigh Glendi Festival attracts more than 15,000 visitors and is a celebration of cultural diversity with an emphasis on music, performance and food. KAZANTZIDIS – A LIVE TRIBUTE
Hosted by Rebetika in Melbourne and the Caravan Music Club, this concert pays tribute to the iconic Stelios Kazantzidis. Between the 1950s and 1990s he was considered the voice of the Greek diaspora. But even so, he remained little known outside of Greece, with the possible exception of Israel. His death was an emotional event for both Greece and its diaspora. The tribute takes place on Saturday 16 November at the Caravan Music Club (1 Victor Rd, East Bentleigh) from 8.00-11.00 pm. Book through trybooking.com. POLICE SERVICE
A chance to support the men and women in uniform is being offered to the community at Saint Efstathios Greek Orthodox Church (221 Dorcas St, South Melbourne) on Sunday 20 October from 9.30 am-12.30 pm. The purpose of this service is to celebrate the annual celebration of St Artemios; patron saint of the police. Father Chris Dimolianis hosts this annual event with the Victorian Hellenic Police Association every year and it gets bigger and bigger. There will be several speeches and presentations and police will be in uniform at the front rows of the church during the service.
