Renowned Lefkadian chef, Evi Voutsina was honoured over the weekend by the Lefkadian Cultural Association at its annual event, Aromas & Tastes from Lefkada.

Hosted on Sunday at Normanby House, the event was well attended by members, friends and sponsors, as well as the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Dimitrios Michalopoulos, who was invited by President Olga Vlahou.

In his address, Mr Michalopoulos congratulated the Board of Directors on organising such a successful event, adding that “it would be good to have such events take place again with the general public”.

Master of Ceremonies for the day was Christina Katsantonis, who presented the program with her unique Lefkadian style.

The program included three live cooking demonstrations by Anastasia Vrettos, Irene Kourtis with her sons Nick and George, and Niki Pezarou who showcased how to make dishes from the island.

Everyone enjoyed indulging in traditionally made goods, including both savoury and sweet, as well as delicious wines while listening to island tunes by DJ Joe.

During the event, the Board of Directors honoured Public Relations Officer and Secretary, Claire Gazis for her many years of dedication and promotion of Lefkada and the Association’s events.
