Former Oakleigh Cannons ace, Dusan Bosnjak, has become the latest player to sign at Olympic Village.
The 29-year-old attacking midfielder joins a largely revamped Heidelberg United attack following the departures of Tom Cahill, Andrew Cartanos and Alex Schiavo in the off-season.
Bosnjak, a former Melbourne Hearts youth captain, has earned the representation as one of the more skilful NPL players who is capable of scoring from both inside and outside of the penalty area.
He joins the Bergers after a season at Altona Magic, whom he joined after spending five seasons at Jack Edwards. He made 140 appearances for the Cannons netting 78 goals, including in a losing grand final against South Melbourne. Whilst team honours eluded him, he picked up the NPL Gold Medal award for the league’s best player in season 2016 during which scored 23 goals.

At the Village, he’ll be joining forces with another recently signed forward, 24-year-old Sydney-born striker James Demetriou. Bergers fans will no doubt be hoping they can forge a match winning partnership.
Meanwhile, Bosnjak’s former club, Oakleigh Cannons has announced the re-signing of English striker Harry White to a three year extension. White joined the club in 2019 and became a mainstay of the Cannons’ attack along with Wade Dekker. Together with fellow British import Joe Guest, White was equal top scorer for the Cannons last season, scoring 11 goals apiece and a major factor in their surge up the ladder in the second half of the season. White’s physical presence in the box and his consistency, won him starting selection ahead of the much heralded Milos Lujic who spent most of the season on the bench.
As well as securing White’s services, the Cannons have strengthened their goal-keeping stocks ahead of next season, by signing 27-year-old keeper Nick Feely from relegated NPL club Pascoe Vale.

In NPL 2 transfer news, Brunswick City has announced the signing of Argentinian born central defender Valentin Gorobsov. A former youth player for Italian club Vicenza and Argentinian club Newell Old Boys, Gorobsov’s football journey took him to the USA before landing in Melbourne this year where he spent some time playing at Moreland United.
