Antonios Maglis of Pronia gave a presentation on PRONIA’S Safe Relationships regional community education program to the Greek community of Morwell in Gippsland on Tuesday, 17 December. He spoke on the delivery of elder abuse prevention community education.

“This is part of a statewide strategy for effective engagement of CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) elderly populations,” said Mr Maglis.

“Family violence and especially elder abuse is often ‘hidden’ in many CALD communities. In regional areas there are particular access to services issues depending on location size of community, availability of culturally and linguistically diverse relevant services,” he said.
