Learning Greek is not always easy, but passionate educators Melanie and Maria have found a great solution. On 15 March the teachers hosted the ‘Kafes kai Parea’ Greek language event at Democritus House in Northcote.

Enticing people with a free frappe and a ‘Zorba til you stop’ competition, Melanie and Maria guided their guests into learning Greek by playing board games and following conversational language posters.

They aim to highlight the importance of preserving the Greek language hosting fun and social future events, showing there is more to Greek culture than just delicious souvlakia and ouzo.
