He may be seven  years old but the kid can play. Stelios Kerasidis is also a child with heart that not even Covid-19 will suppress. The piano prodigy used the pandemic to inspire his latest piece the Isolation Valse (Waltz) which he has dedicated to “people who suffer and isolate because of Covid-19.”

His classical piano piece has already garnered over 43,000 hits since he launched it on YouTube last week while he himself was in isolation with his family in Athens.

The boy who was just five when he performed Chopin’s Waltz in A Minor at New York’s Carnegie Hall introduces his latest work on You Tube saying:  “Hi guys! I’m Stelios. Let’s be just a teeny bit more patient and we will soon be out swimming in the sea. I’m dedicating to you a piece of my own.”

Stelios is the youngest Greek to have ever performed at the Carnegie Hall.  Last year he performed on Elton John’s red piano at the Royal Albert Hall in London. He staged his first public performance when he was just three.

The young pianist came to national prominence when he appeared in the televisions show Greece You Got Talent. He first received training from his father, a pianist and music teacher, when he was three and he soon impressed others with his obvious talent.

Two years later he earned first prize at the international “Citta di Spoleto” piano competition in Italy. He also won first prize at the 2018 Golden Classical Music Awards Invited Winners List after a magnificent performance at New York City’s Weill Recital Hall and has since performed also performed at the Musikverein in Vienna.
