Emmy award nominated actor John Stamos is rumoured to have been cast in an indie film titled Father of Invention.

Stamos has supposedly already begun filming Father of Invention in New Orleans with co-stars Kevin Spacey, Virginia Madsen and Heather Graham.

Stamos will play the role of a man who takes over the business of Kevin Spaceyís character, and subsequently steals his big comeback idea.

Born in Cypress, California, Stamos’ previous surname was Stamatopoulos before his grandparents shortened it after arriving in America from Greece.

Best known for his work on television, Stamos has appeared in numerous series and mini-films throughout his career. Most famously, he played the role of Jesse Katsopolis in the 1990s sitcom Full House for eight seasons.

He then went on to secure a role in the medical drama ER from 2006 to 2009.

Stamos is currently busy preparing for Broadway with a role in the musical Bye Bye Birdie beginning on September 10. He has previously appeared on Broadway in revivals of Cabaret and Nine.
