As we speak, the total number of cases in Australia is 7,037 with 98 deaths.

New South Wales sits at the highest number of cases per state, having reported a total of 3,075 so far followed by Victoria with 1,551. Queensland is not far with 1,051.

In the meantime, WA records yet another day without any new COVID-19 cases but the state’s total infection tally has risen by one. Of its 557 confirmed cases only 5 remain active.

NSW has just welcomed a rule of 10 people able to gather outdoors when several Victorian’s indulged in the company of up to five friends during the weekend. With restrictions easing further on 1 June, Prime Minister Scott Morrison warned we are still very vulnerable to the virus.

At the same time, more than 310,000 people worldwide have lost the battle with the novel coronavirus. There are, to this date, more than 4.5 million known cases of infection but more than 1.65 million people have recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Not so far from Australia, in India, the confirmed coronavirus cases have surpassed China’s, with the health ministry reporting a spike to 85,940 infections and 2752 deaths.
