Questions on how can Greece reverse the negative image of recent years and what methods can Public Diplomacy Talks (PDT) use to enhance that image will be addressed in online talks by leading academics Professors J Cull (University of Southern California) and Stathis Kalyvas (University of Oxford).

The talk hosted by the PDT  on 18 June at 19.30 (Athens Time) will centre on the theme Turning the Tide: How to reverse a negative image – The case of Greece. Renee Maltezou, Reuters’ political and general news correspondent, will moderate the talk.

The Greek PDT is a forum that was inaugurated by year by the Greek foreign ministry’s General Secretariat for Public Diplomacy. The forum provides a platform for a “vibrant exchange of views and best practices on Public Diplomacy affairs.

The discussion will focus on how to better manage and promote Greece’s national image particularly in light of the post COVID-19 era and taking into account the positive momentum reflected in international reports on Greece and its successful handling of the pandemic.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Diaspora Greeks, Konstantinos Vlasis and Constantinos Alexandris, the Secretary General for Public Diplomacy, Religious and Consular Affairs will open the event.
