Theo Taifalos has been announced as the new CEO of V-Line.
Mr Taifalos is known for his work as Chief Operating Officer of Queensland Rail and has years of experience in railway and energy sector
Minister for Public Transport Terry Mulder said Mr Taifalos will have to work hard on creating better services for passengers with increased demand.
“V/Line has grown rapidly in recent years. V/Line carried a record 15.5 million train and coach passengers in the past financial year,” Mr Mulder said.
“Mr Taifalos brings with him a strong commitment to passengers and safe operations.
“Under his leadership, customer satisfaction with Queensland Rail increased significantly, underpinned by a focus on customer service and improving operational performance.”
Mr Taifalos will commence as CEO with V/Line on 20 May this year and is excited to lead V-Line in the introduction of myki, the Regional Rail Link Project and the delivery of 40 new VLocity railcars.
“With 1,450 dedicated people in the V/Line team, we have a great opportunity to further enhance our service to the people of Victoria through an even stronger focus on customer service,” Mr Taifalos said.
Mr Mulder thanked Ross Pedley for his dedicated and professional approach during his seven months as Acting CEO of V/Line.
Mr Pedley will resume his role as V/Line’s General Manager, Corporate & Finance.
