Victoria recorded 177 new COVID-19 cases overnight.

This number was viewed positively after daily cases hitting more than 200 per day, however Chief Health officer Professor Brett Sutton said that the decrease should not result in complacency as the state’s numbers might still not have reached their peak.

There are currently 17 people in ICU, an increase of one in the past 24 hours.

There were 25 new cases connected to contained outbreaks with 151 cases under investigation and one from hotel quarantine.
