The Football Federation Australia (FFA) released the update match schedule for the remainder of the COVID-19 ridden Hyundai A-League 2019-20 season that features minimal changes to the fixtures that were released earlier this month.

The organisation’s Head of Leagues, Greg O’Rourke said the revised schedule meant that there were 27 matches would be played over 34 days with the 2020 Finals Series being moved back a week

“We have been able to keep in place 20 of the 27 matches that we announced previously and the Hyundai A-League 2020 Grand Final will now be scheduled for Sunday 30 August,” said Mr O’Rourke.

“Fans may be able to attend some matches and will also be able to watch on FOX SPORTS, SKY Sport (NZ), ABC TV, Kayo Sports and the MyFootball Live App.

“The scene is now set for an exciting finish to the season,” said Mr O’Rourke.

The six venues (five in New South Wales and one in Queensland)  that will used for the A-League games include: ANZ Stadium; Bankwest Stadium;Central Coast Stadium; McDonald Jones Stadium; Netstrata Jubilee Stadium (all in NSW), and CBUS Stadium (Queensland).

The keys facts relating to the revised season schedule are:

♦ 27 regular season matches to be played between 17 July and 19 August);

♦ The first regular season match, between Sydney FC v Wellington Phoenix, kicks off at the Nestrata Jubilee Stadium on Friday 17 July at 7.30pm AEST;

♦ The last regular season match, between Western United FC v Melbourne City FC, will also be played at the Nestrata Jubilee Stadium on 19 August at 7.30pm AEST;

♦ The Hyundai A-League 2020 Finals Series will begin on 22 August; and

♦ The Grand Final is set to be played on 30 August.

There will be double headers. The first takes place on 25 July at the Banwest Stadium between Wellington Phoenix and Adelaide United at 5pm; Melbourne Victory will take on Western United FC at 7.30pm. The second double header will be on 12 August at the Bankwest Stadium where at 5.35pm Perth Glory play Western United FC. At 8.10pm, Western Sydney Wanderers are up against Melbourne Victory.
