The spike in COVID-19 numbers is of concern to all Melburnians with new restrictions having been added after a record number of cases were recorded on Friday, and an additional three deaths.

Among the total number of deaths, 32 for Victoria, are those of three Greeks who have succumbed to coronavirus.

Among the new infections recorded today are cases at St Basil’s aged care facility in Fawkner where 12 staff members and 13 residents have tested positive. More infections may be recorded as not all results have come through.  Three residents have been hospitalised and the other 10 are self-isolating in their own rooms.

To help deal with the spike, regulations have been updated which explicitly rule out travelling within Melbourne for daily exercise.
