Victoria Police Homicide detectives have laid murder charges against a 18-year-old Dandenong man over an incident that took place in Oakleigh’s Eaton Mall last month.

Thomas ‘Tommy’ Tran, 20, died at the scene after being fatally stabbed on Monday, 29 June. Police said a fight had started between a group of people outside Arthurton Road around 8pm that night.

The young man’s mother, Amy Tran, had stated her son, who was studying to be a personal trainer, was heading to the gym that night and did not know what caused the brawl.
