The Greek Australian Conservative Coalition (GACC) held its first official function two Thursdays ago at the Cyprus Hellenic Club in Sydney, NSW.

According to the Secretary of the Executive Committee, Petros Kalligas more than 160 people showed up at the event with special guests David Clarke MLC and Marie Ficarra MLC, who spoke warmly about the contribution of the Greek Australian community and touched upon Hellenic issues of concern.

Mr Clarke further announced that he will be looking into introducing a resolution to the NSW Legislative Assembly, for the recognition of the Pontian Genocide.

The GACC is a newly established political coalition uniting conservative Greek Australians under a platform which among other things consists of promoting and lobbying for the national issues of Hellenism and matters concerning the Greek Australian community of NSW and supporting endorsed Greek Australian and other Liberal Party Candidates that hold and proactively advocate pro Hellenic positions running for Local, State and Federal office. The Executive Committee includes: President John Kallimanis, Vice-Presidents Peter Poulos, Michael Kitmiridis, Secretary Petros Kalligas, Treasurer Elias Sioutas and Honorary Chairman Paul Drakakis.
