Two New South Wales constables attached to Bankstown’s Police Transport Command are accused of attempting to rape a 17-year-old schoolgirl while on duty in March last year.

Angelo Dellosa, 30, a married father of two from Moorebank, and his friend and colleague James Delinicolis, 29, from Concord West, have been charged with alleged attempted sexual assault of the teenager.

Dellosa who was charged with attempted rape, was on duty when he initially befriended the 17-year-old at a train station in Sydney’s south-west.

Meanwhile, court documents allege Delinicolis “used his position and authority as a New South Wales police officer to engage a 17-year-old during the course of his duties for the purposes of procuring a sexual relationship”.

They also allegedly filmed sex acts before attempting to sexually assault the student with Dellosa allegedly urging Delincolis to carry out the sexual assault. The men, how have both been suspended have also been charged with producing child abuse material.

While they both applied for bail without lawyers, they were refused by a magistrate at Sutherland Local Court yesterday afternoon and remain in custody at Silverwater’s Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre until their next court appearance on 15 September. Police say they are not ruling out further charges as more incriminating material is being presented.
