The Australian National Maritime Museum is making available to the public a digital publication that showcases the voices and stories of some of the migrants to Australia who are registered on the museum’s Welcome Wall.

Entitled We are many- Stories of Australia’s migrants, the online publication brings attention the role of migrants in the making of modern Australia. It features 61 stories from migrants from 32 countries – including the story of a Greek migrant on page 83 of the online publication which also features 10 general articles about migration.

In a statement on its website the museum says of the publication: “We introduce migrants from various times and countries of origin whose stories speak to universal themes such as love, adventure, family, safety and striving for a better life.  And we expose stories of extraordinary courage, resilience, success and celebration, deep despair and injustice.”

The new online publication is a companion to From Across the Seas – Australia’s National Migration Story, which was first released in April 2019. From Across the Seas provides an overview of the museum’s achievements in collecting and sharing the national migration story.
