A CULTURAL EPIPHANY THROUGH SONG: THE GREEK NEW WAVE
The Hellenic Museum invites you to join us for an exploration and celebration of the impact of Greek song through a period of transformational upheaval. Museum CEO John Tatoulis will host the evening, presenting a personal narrative interwoven with an eclectic compilation of songs from two separate Greek music movements, the Political Song and the Greek New Wave of the 1960’s and 70’s.

FREE ONLINE COMMUNITY CONCERT
Communities’ Council on Ethnic Issues will be hosting an online community concert for people of all ages. Working with community groups the concert will include a variety of music, song and dance performances. Special guest artist Dallas Cosmas will be joining the line-up at the final CCOEI virtual concert on 18 October.

VIRTUAL OPEN LECTURE: MEMORY MAPPING AND THE HISTORIC GREEK COMMUNITIES OF ISTANBUL
Leverhulme Research Fellow Dr Gönül Bozoğlu will delve into the ongoing work with communities whose cultural memory fall outside of official heritage practice. The historic ‘Rum’ (Greek-speaking) population of Istanbul lives with a hostile history and so the research involved walking, talking, filming and recording with community members to explore and map their memories, building an online resource.
