A special celebration of Ohi day took place in Sydney with a service at the Lady of the Annunciation Church. Though the global pandemic did not allow for a large gathering as in previous years, Greek Australian community stakeholders were present to pay respects to Greece’s past.

Perth

On Sunday, at the State War Memorial Greek Australians of Perth commemorated the 80th anniversary of “OXI” Day. The day the Greek nation said No to the Axis forces and stood up for the values of freedom, peace and democracy that we all share. “It was great to have fellow Greek-Australian Basil Zempilas – Lord Mayor of Perth there in his new role,” Peter Katsambanis, MP, posted on his Facebook page.
