St Basil’s Homes for the Aged in Fawkner was in the eye of the hurricane during COVID-19.

Reverend Archimandrite Fr Evmenios Vasilopoulos, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Northcote, took over as chairman in the wake of 44 deaths.

He told Neos Kosmos that 50 residents have returned. Each week he receives two to four phone calls for new residents.

Normalcy is returning to churches also which are open for 10 worshippers in Melbourne and will be open for 20 on 8 November provided reservations are made.

Fr Evmenios said that most weddings and baptisms have been cancelled for this year due to restrictions concerning the number of guests.
