Global interest may be gravitated towards the US presidential elections, however on a local level, results for Victoria’s council members have been released by the Victorian Electoral Commission.

The length of the counting period was unprecedented this year due to the conditions caused by COVID-19.

Unfortunately, unlike other years, the ability to meet with face-to-face with candidates was rendered impossible due to the pandemic.

There were more than 65 hopefuls, and Neos Kosmos has counted 15 candidates of Greek and Cypriot origin who were victorious, managing to get a coveted seat in their districts local councils. It should be noted that not all results are in.
