There is no need to dress up to enjoy a meal at one of Athens’s landmark hotels. The historic Hotel Grande Bretagne on Syntagma Square, may well be borrowing from the Melbourne lockdown experience to offer a take-out experience like no other – the chance to enjoy a gourmet meal prepared by its elite Epicurean Team from the comfort of home.

Let Us Do The Cooking is a scheme recently launched by Hotel Grande Bretagne as COVID-19 is once again making its presence felt with more restrictions on the hospitality industry in Greece.

Now the great hotel which has been a landmark in the Greek capital since 1874, is offering valet quality take outs from its “five different indigenous menus”.

“Let us temp you with a collection of assortments featuring signature dishes and inspirational infusions for your family served on beautiful tableware,” announced the Let Us Do The Cooking brochure.

“Select through a variety of exceptional flavors, ranging from vegetarian menu options to Sunday roast experiences, and ‘let us do the cooking’ for the finest culinary experience.”

Athenians can phone in their orders from 11am to 8pm every day. It is not clear whether the hotel Rolls Royce will do deliveries.
