Just three weeks into her new role and the CEO of Fronditha Care Faye Spiteri Tsolakis has embarked on a restructuring process to reverse the organisation’s fortunes and ensure its future success

Ms Spiteri Tsolakis said a long term stategy will be implemented in collaboration with the organisation’s board of directors and its executive team, that will help to turn around the business and realign operational plans for the future. The organisation had posted a deficit of $6.7 million for the 2019/20 financial year.

“Fronditha Care is shaping the future of the organisation and its service delivery, securing financial viability and sustainability whilst maintaining the highest standard of clinical care and care oversight,” said Ms Spiteri Tsolakis in a statement.

She said that given the 2019/20 deficit, it was critical to take immediate action and review the organisation’s operations to “look for efficiencies”. This included a review of work force costs as well as other expenditure.

The first stage of the projected changes has begun with a restructuring of the organisation at a corporate level, she said.

“This decision was not taken lightly but it was important to review how we function. Importantly, we made a deliberate decision to lessen the impact on service delivery and stayed true to our service promise with no reduction of staff across community and residential services,” Ms Spiteri Tsolakis said.

“In consultation with our residential managers, we reviewed our master rosters across all facilities and adjusted these with regard to each facility.

“The board, executive and I have accepted the challenges we face head on because we know it is incumbent on us to be the agents of change that will see the organisation thrive once more.

“The board and I want to assure the community that we will continue to provide the highest standards of clinical care – as that is the reason for our being. We will also continue to support the health, safety and wellbeing our staff because they are the backbone of Fronditha Care.

“We are reframing our financial performance and have taken this tough course of action to ensure we are here in service of the community for at least another 44 years,” Ms Spiteri Tsolakis said.
