Archie Thompson, Lukas Neil and Tim Cahill have been picked to take on Brazil for the Socceroos in September. Announcing the 22-man squad this week, head coach Holger Osieck hopes to see a full strength Australian side for next week’s match.

Central Coast Mariners striker Mitchell Duke has been rewarded for his efforts at the recent EAFF East Asian Cup with his second call-up to the Socceroos squad and Middlesbrough-based defender Rhys Williams returns to the Socceroos after missing the recent FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers in June.

Matt McKay and Mark Milligan, along with Thompson and Duke, make up the four Hyundai A-League players within the Socceroos squad.

This will be the seventh match between Brazil and Australia at senior men’s international level after the teams last met at the Allianz Arena in the group phase of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, where Brazil were 2-0 winners.

The Socceroos are currently ranked 46th in the FIFA World Rankings whilst the Brazilians are currently ninth.

The match between the Socceroos and Brazil will be broadcast Live & Exclusive on FOX SPORTS 3HD and 3 from 5.00 am (AEST).
