Eminent European scholar and academic, Professor Dr. Spyros Pavlidis, a specialist seismologist and geologist, president of many European geophysical societies will be coming to Australia as Visiting Professor from 1-12 November 2013 for four lectures in Australia. He will be an official participant at the Dimitria Festival 2013 organized by the Pan-Macedonian Association of Melbourne and Victoria.

Professor Pavlidis is also the Dean of the Faculty of Geology of the University of Thessaloniki and a world expert on earthquakes and the geology of Europe, particularly of Greece. He has studied the genesis of the seas including the Aegean and the influence of the geology on world civilizations including the Greek civilization.

The renowned scholar and researcher will be the Visiting Professor of the Greek Studies Program, University of Notre Dame Australia, the Australian Institute of Macedonian Studies and the Cultural Centre “Kostis Palamas” . Professor Pavlidis will present an exclusive lecture in English organized by the Greek orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria and the Australian Institute of Macedpnian Studies on Wednesday 6 November and the rest in Greek in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney (Please see the attach ed file for more information)
