As the European summer draws to a close, the rains are out and so are some of Greece’s elite performers on stage across the country.

This means it’s not longer beach club season, but the autumn and winter season for the bouzoukia.

Some of the biggest gigs to look forward to in the coming months include the likes of Paschalis Terzis, Anna Vissi, Antonis Remos and Yiannis Parios just to name a few.

It is also rumoured that Michalis Hatzigiannis will be performing live at a number of clubs alongside popular group Onirama.

A reunion also seems to be in the works, with the boys from Ax Maria getting together to perform alongside Rallia Christidou in Athens.

The duet fun does not stop there. A number of illustrious collaborations are also in the making such as Dimitri Mitropanos teaming up with Peggy Zina and Kostas Makedonia with Giota Negra.

Despite all of this excitement, there is one thing hampering the winter nightlife vibe this year in Greece; smoking bans.

On top of the global financial crisis, club owners have expressed deep concerns over trying to abide with the anti-smoking bans in nightspots around the country.

They have said that it will be a costly exercise to create spaces to replace smoking inside indoor venues.
