Strict checks on petrol prices will be put in place  next week in Greece after unjustified increases were recorded on petrol prices when crude oil prices were dropping. The Development Ministry announced that it will carry out checks on petroleum prices as of next week to ensure transparency. From March 1, trading companies will have to write price cuts on invoices. Oil refineries will also have to inform the ministry on changes in the prices they charge. The Greek Government has been stirred to action because the price of unleaded oil continues to rise in the Greek market despite a drop in the price of crude oil.
