According to Greece’s Health Minister, Dimitris Avramopoulos, 87 per cent of the people tested positive for the virus  are visitors from overseas, mainly from USA and Australia.

Health authorities told Neos Kosmos English Edition (NKEE) that in particular the ones from Australia are young people and most of them of Greek origin from Melbourne who are visiting Greece for their summer holiday.

The same sources revealed that Greek authorities pay particular attention to visitors from Australia since there has been a huge outbreak of the highly infectious virus there, particularly in Victoria.
