Nick, 34, has worked in the Navy for 16 years and is finally looking to settle down. Ladies if you are looking for a trustworthy, Christian man, read on.

When an advertisement in Thursday’s Neos Kosmos asking for a wife crossed my desk, I was intrigued and thought I would find out more.

This is what the ad said:
Bride wanted. Aged 28 to 32, of Christian principles, for a young man 34 years of age, good looking with good occupation. Financially independent. Ask for Nick or his father.

When I contacted Nick, he was surprised because he did not place the ad!

“My parents did it and didn’t tell me until after they had done it,” he said. “I would have preferred them to have run it by me but I understand that they did it with good intentions. The truth is that I am single and I do want to settle down and have a family.”

Nick is a marine engineer and has spent most of his time  recently on the warship of the Royal Australian Navy.

His demanding work schedule and overseas ventures means that he has had little time to seek out a partner.

However he indicates that this could be open to change if he met the right person.

“My family live in Melbourne and two of my three properties are also in Melbourne so moving back there may be an option.”

When he is not out at sea, he spends his time in Sydney where he likes to go to the movies, catch up with friends, play professional snooker, and go to the football.

So what makes Nick a good catch?

“I’m young, fit, healthy, I’m also a hard worker and I’m honest and trustworthy,” he says. “I love kids, and I have a sense of humour most of the time.”

Here is a quick snap shot of Nick – you be the judge.

Physical appearance: 179cm, short, dark brown hair, brown eyes, olive complexion, good looking and fit.

Most attractive thing about a woman: Her personality. Someone that you can get along with.

Ideal partner: Someone trustworthy, loyal, healthy, Christian, that loves children but preferably does not have children already.

Ideal first date: I would want to spend as much time getting to know a lady over dinner or something a bit more formal than a coffee.

Most romantic thing you’ve every done for a girl: You can do one romantic thing or you can do a lot of things that aren’t as romantic but a lot of them.I’m probably one of those people that does many things, sometimes on the spur of the moment rather than a once a month romantic gesture.
