Aris and Kavala qualified to the semifinals of the Greek Cup on Wednesday after their wins in the replays that completed the competition’s last four line-ups.

Aris defeated Xanthi 3-0 at home while Kavala overcame Panionios 2-1 in Athens in extra time.

Aris produced a great game to defeat Xanthi 3-0 in Thessaloniki.

Javier Campora opened the score for Aris at the 17th minute after an effort by Neto that was poorly cleared by Xanthi goalkeeper Sotiris Liberopoulos.

Freddy Adu made it 2-0 with a tap-in at the 23rd from a cross by Toni Calvo.

Sergio Koke scored Aris’s third goal from a Campora pass at the 66th minute.

At Nea Smyrni, Kavala came from behind to beat Panionios who played most of extra time with a man less.

Sito Riera bent the resistance of the Kavala defence two minutes into the second half to give Panionios the lead.

Yet Sinisa Dobrasinovic, the Kavala skipper, stunned Panionios with a 35-metre right-foot screamer and pulled his side back on level terms with six minutes left on the clock to take the game to extra time.

In injury time Yiannis Maniatis came close to winning it for Panionios, but his shot was stopped by the cross bar of Kavala keeper Charles Itandje.

Czech Martin Latka left Panionios with 10 men at the second minute of extra time as the hosts’ centre back got his second yellow card.

Benjamin Onwuachi gave Kavala the win with a powerful swerving shot from the left.

In the semifinals Aris will face Kavala while Panathinaikos will play PAS Yiannina.
