Last week the Greek Film Festival hit Melbourne and if you think you’ve missed out, hold your horses, because there’s two more weeks to go.

There’s plenty on to appeal to a variety of tastes.

With Heart & Soul, is a very moving feature about two brothers who find themselves fighting during the Greek Civil War on opposite sides.

For something considerably lighter, but just as nostalgic and you’re thinking of a holiday on a Greek Island, then Nisos is a must see. Both films have extra screenings due to popular demand.

Other highlights amongst many are Colossi of Love, a doco about the notrious Duan Juans of the Greek islands in the 70’s, and their unwavering charms on unsuspecting English female tourists.

There’s Soul Kitchen by celebrated Turkish actor and director Fatih Akin. It’s a marvelous mix of alternative food venues, family politics, fascist chefs and the dodgy types that can emerge when help is required from unlikely quarters.

Loads of films, it’s all happening in the one spot: The Como Cinema in South Yarra, and it all ends on Oct 30.
