The Northern Territory Government has given $200,000 to SAE Oceania, the organisers of the Panhellenic Games.

The Games, which will take place in Darwin during September 29 to October 2, will see more than 400 Greek Australian athletes from all over Australia and New Zealand compete.

The announcement of the funding was made last weekend by Northern Territory premier Paul Henderson during the Cyprus Community Wine Festival. SAE Oceania president George Agelopoulos welcomed the funding and expressed his gratitude to the Northern Territory Government ensuring all parties involved the success of the games.

President of the Greek Community of Darwin John Nikolakis added that the Greek community in the Northern Territory wholeheartedly supports the event and reiterated that they will do all they can to make the games an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators.
